Faces I Love

Wow, I didn't really think about it at the time I took these pics, but when I looked at them later I realized that these are some of the people I love best on the planet...faces I just can't get enough of.

Sometimes I pinch myself and I can't believe how incredibly lucky I am to have these beautiful, loving people in my life on a daily basis.

I can't imagine my life without any one of them.

Now I just need to work on getting pictures of the rest of my favorite faces...you know you're out there!! :-)

My Mom

"To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether through a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have suceeded.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

She has done all of these things, and so many more.
I love you Mom.

Back in the Saddle

Wow...I can't believe it's been almost a year since I've updated my blog! I think I just had so many things happen in such a short time that I got overwhelmed with capturing it all and just got too far behind. Well...NO longer! Instead of trying to update with EVERY pic I love (and let's face it...I love them all) I'm just going to hit the highlights and go from there until I get caught up.

So, with that in mind let's go back in time to June of last year, and Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary party. Of course as I'm writing this I realize it's just a few weeks away from their 51st...yiikes!

The picture you see above is our family on that day. It turned out to be a wonderful day, with lots of laughter, and even a few sentimental tears. We saw SO many friends, many of whom my Mom and Dad had not seen since the Newport Children Center days.
Some of the most important people in my parents life were there, and it was very special for them. I had put together a 10 minute slideshow of their lives together, and had such a good time doing it. My Dad's comment to me, in tears, was that it "was one of the best days of his life". That comment made it one of the best days of my life. We LOVE YOU Mom and Dad!
